Duties

US Medical Integration Solutions (USM-IS) seeks an individual to create modern and modular software architectures across a portfolio of business software products focused on data integration. Additionally, this individual will collaborate within a community of solution architects to drive improvements across multiple software delivery teams.

The Solution Architecture Senior Advisor balances the needs of product owners, business leaders, delivery teams, enterprise architecture and finance to deliver on our technology strategy. This is a senior technical role, requiring an individual capable of providing thought leadership and architectural oversight for multiple USM-IS delivery teams while managing relationships with IT and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support USM-IS delivery teams in the following ways:
  • Socialize USM-IS technical strategy and governance procedures
  • Coach team leads on how to construct high quality solution designs
  • Provide architectural direction that align with Cigna technology strategy
  • Assist teams on how to provide more accurate estimates
  • Evaluate proposed solutions for quality, feasibility, consistency
  • Ensure that solution designs fit within financial targets
  • Help manage stakeholder relationships at all levels (business, technical, and regulatory)
• Continuously evaluate industry standards, best practices, and technology trends and apply those to support and enhance the goals of the US Medical business
• Support continuous improvement of solution architecture best practices by participating in a peer group of senior USM-IS solution architects

• Excellent communication skills (written & oral) to prepare clear presentations, technical specifications, status, and other written artifacts.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate cross-functional technical and business teams
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and clarify vague and ambiguous initiatives.
• Familiarity with producing conceptual prototypes demonstrate concepts and capabilities
• Expert knowledge of software development lifecycle, including financial management, agile software development methodologies
• The chosen candidate must have a mastery or certification in one of the following architectural disciplines:
  • API Architecture - Includes knowledge of API Standards, Microservices, and expertise in the design and delivery of cloud native applications with a focus on AWS tools and services
  • Data Architecture - Includes knowledge of data movement technologies such as Databricks, Airflow, python, Spark, Kafka, and DataStage.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of 10+ Years of recent, direct experience implementing high volume multi-tier transactional systems including cloud, web applications, workflow, and web services

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 125,500 - 209,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
