We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team and various cross functional teams, you will analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with these, and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and GAAP reporting.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and review month-end journals and associated reconciliations by working with different areas of the business to ensure all transactions are accounted for in the correct period

• Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis

• Prepare flux and variance explanations as part of the monthly close process for all areas assigned

• Research and document analysis of technical accounting issues (i.e., adoption of new accounting pronouncements, significant or new transactions, areas of judgement, etc.)

• Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX

• Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, as well as periodic internal audits

• Document and drive projects to improve processes for assigned areas

• Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

• Coach and develop junior team members through their daily responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLookUps, etc.

• Strong Accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP

• Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment

• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

• A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency

• Exceptional organizational skills

• Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods

• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience

• 3+ years of experience as an accounting professional

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA License, or in progress

• Big 4 firm experience

• Fortune 500 and/or private company experience

• Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, Netsuite, etc.)
