In Accounting & External Reporting ("AER") we are a team of experts dedicated to ensuring absolute integrity and accuracy of our financial data and reporting delivering results with speed and data that enables insights for Enterprise Value Creation.
The Senior Accountant Accounting & External Reporting NA will support the North America Region accounting processes including advertising and consumer promotions and manufacturing/inventory while providing support to other areas including the direct-to-consumer business ad-hoc projects and supporting other month-end close processes. You will also coordinate with our shared services partners. The ideal candidate has a strong finance/accounting background an analytical mindset is detail-oriented can perform technical accounting research and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. The role includes identifying opportunities for process improvements in the assigned areas as well as ensuring monthly quarterly and annual activities are completed accurately and timely.
A strong understanding of financial systems is required. Experience in SAP NetSuite HFM and Blackline is preferred.
How You Will Contribute:
  • Support accounting activities for the North America region including the month-end closing process by providing analysis and resolution of issues as they arise.
  • Ensure monthly quarterly and annual activities are completed accurately and timely.
  • Support accounting functions related to advertising and consumer promotions manufacturing/inventory and our direct-to-consumer business.
  • Assist in account variance analysis and commentary to explain trends and business drivers while providing adequate support.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations with the goal of identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support the validation of data processed between our marketing platform (Aprimo) and accounting system (SAP).
  • Provide guidance and point of escalation for activities completed by our shared service partners.
  • Interpret and apply the accounting standard requirements related to advertising and consumer promotions and inventory and manufacturing as well as supporting associated controls and processes.
  • Liaison with and provide support to Supply Chain Marketing and other functions to complete month-end requirements.
  • Establish cross-functional relationships address inquiries from other departments and act as a trusted business partner.
  • Support compliance with our internal control framework and improve current accounting processes and controls.
  • Embrace a mindset of continuous improvement and identify ways of working in your areas of responsibility.
  • Contribute to a high-performing AER team and invest in personal development.
  • Research and apply technical accounting guidance; understand and apply Mondelez finance policies.
  • Identify and lead projects to drive accounting process improvements and enhance process documentation.
  • Support Internal/External Audit and Internal controls team with ad-hoc accounting information and SOX controls documentation.
  • Support other ad hoc tasks/projects as assigned.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree of Science or Business Degree in Accounting or Finance• CPA or CPA Track (preferred but not required)• 3 or more years of accounting/finance experience with significant experience in accounting• Internal / External Audit experience is preferred.• A strong understanding of financial systems is required with experience in SAP NetSuite and HFM a plus.• Strong experience in account analysis and reconciliations with background in Blackline a plus.• Strong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholders.• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and documentation.• Strong influencing and communication skills• Strong Excel skills and ability to handle/analyze large amounts of complex data.• Technical skills problem solving and a challenging/assertive approach.• Ability to work with details and to understand business implications.
Salary and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $86900 to $119515; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience skills education and location. In addition to base salary this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
