The Role:

The Back End Web Developer is responsible for working on a variety of projects primarily focused on the development of the company website.  They will develop and implement all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end for the digital properties of the company. This position will work very closely with the leadership, providing ideas of innovative functionalities to improve user experience and achievement of goals.

What You’ll Do:

• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
• Build reusable data structures, code, libraries, APIs, and interfaces for future use
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Maintenance of cloud architecture (AWS)
• Implementation of security and data protection
• Fix issues and troubleshoot email and ticket requests from multiple different teams

What You’ll Bring:

• 6+ years of proven experience
• 1+ year of experience with cloud computing (AWS)
• Solid experience with a sophisticated PHP framework (Laravel, Yii 2, Zend, or Symfony)
• Strong experience with SQL, NoSQL, and GraphQL
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs
• Experience applying OWASP security principles, mainly the top 10

Nice to Have:

• Craft CMS experience
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certified
• Experience with data privacy compliance – GDPR, PIPEDA, APA, CCPA
• Experience with CI/CD automation
• Gitflow workflow experience or any other sophisticated Git workflow
