This role sits at the core of advanced industrial transformation projects, where engineering expertise meets cutting-edge process optimization technologies. You will work on the design and deployment of advanced process control (APC) and model predictive control solutions that directly enhance manufacturing performance. Acting as a technical expert, you will support global clients across multiple industries such as refining, mining, polymers, food, and biofuels. The position combines deep process understanding with real-time optimization and data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end project execution, from design and modeling to commissioning and customer acceptance. This is a high-impact role within a global engineering environment, focused on improving efficiency, quality, and sustainability in industrial operations.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will act as a global technical expert in Advanced Process Control, supporting manufacturing optimization and delivering high-value engineering solutions across multiple industries:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced process control and model predictive control applications.
  • Analyze customer processes and build mathematical and dynamic models to predict system behavior and optimize performance.
  • Configure and implement real-time optimization solutions to improve product quality, production capacity, and energy efficiency.
  • Oversee full project lifecycle delivery, from preliminary design through commissioning and final customer acceptance.
  • Support system integration, hardware installation, and technical troubleshooting in industrial environments.
  • Conduct step testing, model identification, and inferential deployment activities for APC applications.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and apply best practices in process control and optimization.

  • Requirements

    • Degree in Chemical Engineering or another relevant Engineering discipline.
    • At least 5+ years of experience in Advanced Process Control, process modeling, or industrial optimization projects.
    • Strong background in industries such as petrochemicals, polymers, mining, cement, pulp & paper, or similar manufacturing environments.
    • Solid knowledge of APC technologies, model predictive control, and real-time optimization systems.
    • Experience in both linear and nonlinear process modeling, dynamic and steady-state optimization, and control loop tuning.
    • Familiarity with DCS systems, instrumentation, historian tools, and plant performance monitoring.
    • Proven experience in project execution, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial systems.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience in cost-benefit analysis and technical design.
    • Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory; Spanish is highly desirable.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work in global, cross-functional environments.
