ABOUT THE POSITION

The Columbia Brand Media team is focused on delivering the right content to the right consumer at the right time. To achieve this, we partner with the Brand Creative teams to deliver bespoke creative through the right channels to the right consumer.

This work extends to cross functional collaboration and innovation with Brand Strategy, Brand Creative, and Brand Experience teams to acquire consumers across the key categories in which we operate (snow, hike, fish, lifestyle).

As the Sr Director Brand Marketing Media, you will be responsible for bringing new consumers into the Columbia universe through your expert knowledge of the modern media landscape, inclusive of communications and influencer marketing.

You'll look across the media landscape to drive consumers from awareness to consideration/affinity to conversion. By integrating all paid and earned elements of media (all forms of paid, comms, owned social, influencers, ambassador and partnership amplification), you'll optimize and innovate our Go To Consumer plans. You will oversee channel leaders and experts within this team to input into the creative process, enabling us to drive the right content in the right channel, for the right people, at the right time.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • You will work alongside the CMO and Marketing leadership team to provide media leadership and direction that help solve brand and business problems.
  • Shape the strategic media vision for the company - as well campaign implementation across all media platforms, optimizing and innovating how we go to consumer
  • Develop and coordinate multimedia campaigns that support and extend our brand stories across the consumer journey
  • Drive functional expertise in earned and paid channels.
  • Work closely with creative to deliver a LT strategy for our owned social channels.
  • Deliver seasonal learnings plans and post campaign analytics
  • Builds long term relationships with media partners that can authentically elevate our brand in certain consumer segments/activities. Manage media, comms and influencers agencies and vendors needed to support strategies
  • Evaluate key business challenges. Develop and provide authoritative advice related to new solutions; directs solution execution. Guided by functional strategy and business objectives, elevate the results for the brand
  • Manage media, communication and influencer agencies.

YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience in marketing, business, media, communications
  • 15+ years of marketing and/or brand management experience required at the regional and global level with an emphasis on brand strategy and category offense
  • 10+ years in progressively senior leadership roles management including managing through directors.
  • Proven matrix management experience; able to influence and lead effectively across brand, innovation, creative, media, brand experience, and geographies
  • Global Media leadership experience in a medium to large brand driven organization, integrating full funnel media, comms, and influencers (paid & earned focus)
  • Strong knowledge and experience working alongside the Communications/PR function
  • Highly skilled in managing media, talent and influencer agencies.
  • Effective budget management, with a keen eye for brand equity building and ROAS optimization
