ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Senior Pricing & Monetization Strategy Manager you will play a key role in developing pricing and monetization strategies across our global portfolio of courses, a critical function of the business. From conducting analyses and running experiments, to supporting business case creation, you'll be involved in all aspects of Udemy's pricing and monetization strategy. You will support pricing of new customer-facing products, the development of new pricing models for both subscriptions and individual course transactions, as well as assist in the ongoing monitoring and execution of global pricing initiatives. This role is focused on Udemy's consumer business.

You thrive in roles where you balance strategy, analytics, and execution/operations. You feel equally comfortable building dashboards and extracting insights from data as you do managing project timelines and designing processes. You are capable of working cross-functionally with partners at all levels, particularly in Marketing, Product, Engineering and Data Science. You are laser-focused on the customer and delivering positive experiences that align with Udemy's goals and mission.
Here's what you'll be doing:
  • Lead the development of pricing & monetization strategies across Udemy's subscription and transactional models, while driving organizational understanding of the interplay between each
  • Support the introduction of subscription model to new geographies by creating local currency pricing options for monthly and annual offerings
  • Implement initiatives to accelerate consumer marketplace growth, managing projects that involve stakeholders from Data Science, Product, Customer Support, etc.
  • Drive our team's understanding of marketplace dynamics & performance drivers across diverse geographies, course categories, customer segments and products
  • Develop pricing experiments, including partnering with Product to write experiment briefs and coordinating with Data Science on experiment design, launch, analysis and reporting
  • Model the impact of pricing or promotional changes, support other teams and partner with finance in developing models.
  • Create dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, and Mode.
  • Participate in discussions involving global market research, trends and opportunities, competitive landscape, business models and GTM strategies to assist in the development of business cases

We're excited about you because you have:
  • 6+ years of experience in marketing strategy, analytics, business operations, or consulting (consumer subscription pricing experience strongly preferred)
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into actionable solutions and processes
  • Experience analyzing big data sets via data structuring and visualization tools - SQL, Tableau, - including strong Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience coordinating with stakeholders to deliver results in a highly analytical organization.
  • Familiarity with how to build a business case, and, ideally, have built business cases as part of a team.

Nice to haves...
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, math, or related quantitative field of study.
  • Strong familiarity with experimental design methods - A/B testing, Longitudinal studies, DiD experiments, etc.
