Team: Account Executive
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Sales Engineer, New Business based in the United States.
In this role, you will act as the primary technical advisor in early-stage customer engagements, helping prospects evaluate and understand how a modern API platform can integrate into their existing systems. You will guide technical discovery, shape solution architecture, and remove friction throughout the sales cycle to accelerate deal progression. Working closely with Account Executives and technical stakeholders, you will translate complex requirements into clear, compelling solutions that drive confident buying decisions. This is a highly consultative, pre-sales position focused on new business acquisition and technical validation, not post-sale implementation. You will play a critical role in shaping how customers adopt API-first capabilities across email, calendar, and contact workflows. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and deeply technical, with strong exposure to engineering, product, and executive teams. Your impact will be directly tied to revenue growth and successful enterprise deal closures.
Accountabilities:
- Partner with Account Executives to drive the technical strategy across net-new sales opportunities from discovery through close.
- Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer architecture, requirements, integration needs, and success criteria.
- Design and deliver tailored demos, solution architectures, and technical presentations aligned to customer use cases.
- Build proof-of-concept integrations, sample code, and demo environments to accelerate technical validation.
- Support technical evaluations including security reviews, RFP responses, and architecture discussions.
- Provide hands-on guidance around APIs, authentication, webhooks, and integration best practices.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams by sharing customer feedback, technical objections, and market insights.
- Contribute reusable technical assets and enablement materials to improve scalability across the sales organization.
- 3–6 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Developer Relations within SaaS, API, or platform environments.
- Strong experience supporting complex technical sales cycles and influencing enterprise or six-figure deals.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, Ruby, or similar).
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, authentication, and modern integration patterns.
- Ability to quickly analyze customer architectures and recommend practical technical solutions.
- Strong consultative discovery skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth, or developer-focused environments.
- Passion for developer experience and building scalable software integrations.
- Nice to have: experience with email/calendar systems (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Exchange, IMAP, SMTP) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Competitive total OTE compensation: $105,000 – $155,000 CAD (80/20 base/variable split)
