Sr. Staff Accountant

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Exemplify and uphold the organization’s Mission, Core Values, Guiding Principles (MVPs), and Discipline • Lead financial planning and reporting functions to ensure effective and efficient management of all entities. FINANCIAL PLANNING & REPORTING • Deliver timely, accurate monthly financial statements and analyses for the company and its subsidiaries. • Lead month-end close processes and prepare financial statements with supporting analysis. • Reconcile daily cash accounts for all entities. • Assist in preparing, reviewing, adjusting, and closing journal entries and month-end accruals. • Review and ensure accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations. • Align the general ledger with related systems, such as hotel reservation and inventory platforms. • Provide weekly operational statistics and insights to management-level staff. • Support budget preparation and conduct continuous budget analysis and reporting. • Oversee the completion of governmental filings, including sales, property, payroll, and income tax returns for both for-profit and nonprofit entities. • Audit and post daily revenue entries. • Implement and oversee inventory procedures, working closely with institute staff to ensure accurate usage and reporting in financial statements. • Collaborate with store personnel, housekeeping, and vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels. • Manage and execute special financial projects as needed. ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the Controller in developing and monitoring internal controls, procedures, and financial processes. • Perform other financial tasks and assignments as directed. QUALIFICATIONS • Multi-tasking:Capable of managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. • Communication:Effective oral communicator; actively listens, seeks clarification, maintains confidentiality, and articulates information clearly. • Integrity:Demonstrates the highest standards of personal and professional ethics. SUPERVISORY DUTIES:None EDUCATION • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) EXPERIENCE • 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within hospitality, retail, or service industries. • Proven track record in preparing monthly financial statements and conducting financial analyses. • Familiarity with Tier 1 accounting software platforms preferred. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) • Experience with accounting software (Dynamics GP 2013 preferred) LANGUAGE ABILITY • Able to comprehend and interpret business publications, technical documents, and regulatory texts. • Strong written communication skills, including report writing and documentation. • Comfortable presenting information to managers, clients, customers, and public stakeholders. MATHEMATICAL PROFICIENCY • Understanding of probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry. • Able to apply mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios. ANALYTICAL SKILLS • Proficient in identifying problems, analyzing data, forming logical conclusions, and interpreting complex technical instructions and diagrams.
