In this exciting role as a Senior Mobile/IoT Test Automation Engineer for medical devices, your role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of connected medical devices, mobile applications, and IoT components. A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Start your day by designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for medical devices, mobile applications, and IoT components. These scripts are pivotal in ensuring the functionality and compliance of healthcare solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Engineers across the globe to manage all phases of functional and regression testing. Execute test scripts, analyze results, and identify any discrepancies, anomalies, or defects.
  • When issues are identified during testing, your role involves promptly resolving them within defined service levels. This includes isolating issues, determining their root causes, and outlining effective solutions.
  • Engage in meetings with colleagues and business partners to confirm project requirements and ensure that the solutions under development meet the unique needs of the medical device domain.
  • Allocate time to create, update, and maintain documentation. This includes test plans, test cases, detailed reports on test results, and documentation essential for regulatory compliance within the medical device industry.
  • Utilize a variety of testing tools and frameworks to conduct comprehensive systems testing. Test the interoperability of medical devices with mobile and IoT applications, and actively monitor and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Contribute to identifying and implementing continuous improvement concepts aimed at enhancing the efficiency and value delivered to clients. Collaborate with your team to refine testing processes and automation frameworks.
  • Allocate time for staying informed about the latest advancements in testing software technologies. This might involve reading industry blogs, attending webinars, or taking online courses to maintain a broad understanding of emerging trends.
  • Dedicate part of your day to working independently on estimating, designing, and delivering solutions for upcoming projects. This includes planning the implementation of new tests or enhancing existing automation scripts.
  • At the end of each day, review your task list, update project status reports, and plan for the following day. This ensures that you remain organized and prepared for the challenges ahead.
  • Engage in brief discussions with your team or manager, sharing insights from your day's work and addressing any concerns or challenges that require attention. These discussions promote effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Your role as a Mobile/IoT Test Automation Engineer in the medical device field is dynamic and pivotal in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of healthcare technology. Each day, you play an instrumental role in advancing healthcare solutions through rigorous testing and continuous improvement.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 8 + years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on automation scripting experience in Java/Python.
  • Experience in mobile automation with Appium.
  • Experience in cloud technologies like AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) methodologies and tools with demonstrated experience in an automation role.
  • Proven track record of building test automation and driving efforts for implementing test frameworks on web or service-oriented architectures.
  • 8+ years of QA testing, including creating test artifacts and reporting defects.
  • 8 + years of strong automation testing experience, preferably in Selenium and using Cucumber, BDD, TestNG.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jenkins CI, and the ability to build a test pipeline.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile testing methodologies with Jira and best practices.
  • Knowledge and a full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work and adapt to new challenges, both as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
