A little about us:
The Senior Accountant will be part of the Global Accounting & Reporting team which helps ensure the accuracy of accounting for all Yahoo entities.
A lot about you:
The ideal candidate would have experience with a variety of accounting functions. This role requires the candidate to have exceptional technical skills and to be experienced in strategic and analytical thinking with a firm emphasis on attention to detail. You will need to have the ability to communicate your work clearly with various groups and staff/management of all levels. This role will be specialized in accounting for our Management Equity Program.
Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned
• Prepare monthly variance analysis for month-end close meetings, both P&L and balance sheet analysis
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
• Ensure 100% controllership integrity
• Ensure finance policies and guidelines are met satisfactorily during review/audit periods
• Assist in driving finance/controllership change initiatives through process improvements to gain efficiencies as needed
• Support Accounting Managers with Ad hoc reporting and special projects as required
• Assist with the preparation of required disclosures
• Provide audit support and fulfill all audit requests

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in Stock Based comp accounting/Equity accounting preferred
• Highly organized individual who can work independently as well as with cross functional groups
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills required
• Comfortable working with large sets of data
• Strong verbal and written skills along with good interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills, primarily Excel including pivots, vlookups and similar functions
• Able to manage high volumes of transactions timely and accurately
• Public accounting/auditing experience a plus
• CPA highly recommended
• Oracle Financials experience a plus
