Job Summary

The Sr. Actuarial Technician assists the Actuarial Model Governance team with managing the governance and controls around the actuarial model change management process and collabortationg with the F&G acturaies in various parts of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and tracking of actuarial models changes to ensure for compliance with F&G’s model risk management policy
  • Assists in the improvement of processes and documentation.
  • Become well-versed in Actuarial Model Governace concepts
  • Contributes to the preparation and acts as an active participant in Actuarial Model Goverance Meetings
  • Maintain a central repository of up-to-date actuarial model materials for all F&G actuaries on SharePoint
  • Manage tools for the tracking actuarial model changes through the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with different levels of employees from various areas of the company to help Actuarial Models team leadership with ensuring for the timely development, testing, and integration of actuarial model changes.
  • Drafting and maintainance of actuarial model governance documentation.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree preferred. in Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Actuarial Science or other related technical field
  • 2-4 years experience in Financial Services Industry. Minimum years of experience - 1 year
  • Experience with life or annuity products preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with financial projection models, understanding of software development life cycle best practices
  • SharePoint experience preferred

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills that include advanced analytical and reasoning abilities
  • Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and is able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical and be able to handle multiple projects
  • Team player who has the ability to function as a key member of a small group
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Other Requirements

  • Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Some travel required (less than 10%)
