Sr. Database Reliability Engineer

What you will do:

• The database reliability engineering team is responsible for supporting the Database as a Service (DBaaS)
• Eager to learn new technologies and stay abreast of upcoming technologies in the Database arena and industry trends
• Implement best practices for database management, ensuring optimal performance and availability
• Manage and evolve database monitoring tools, performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
• Investigate and resolve complex database-related issues, providing technical expertise and guidance to the team
• Implements designs by writing scripts, configuring systems, servers, cloud resources, including testing, and debugging
• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for database-related incidents

What you will bring to Coupa:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, science, or business or the equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the databases MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.. Experience in MySQL is preferred
• 5+ years of managing, administering, and tuning databases
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure in one or more Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP). Experience in AWS is preferred
• Experience in cloud native database technologies like rds, aurora etc.
• Experience in tools like Terraform, Chef, etc.
• Experience in High Availability solutions like Orchestrator etc.
• Experience in one or more programming languages like Python, Ruby, GO etc.
• Advance knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, Replication, and performance monitoring standards
• Good understanding database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Certifications in Cloud technologies and database technologies is a plus
