As our Sr. Deal Desk Specialist, you will support our sales teams with deal negotiation strategy, contracting documents and help to outline the pricing framework during the entire sales cycle. As our 2nd US-based deal desk hire, your work will be crucial to helping us continue to scale the Deal Desk function globally, working cross-functionally throughout all levels of commercetools.
- Partner with Sales, Revenue Operations, Legal, and Finance as a trusted advisor to manage the contract review process for a variety of commercials, revenue recognition, and non-standard deal structures
- Support our US Deal Desk Leader in reviewing a variety of order forms with differing levels of complexity for accuracy, while ensuring all required approvals, such as pricing discounts and contractual terms, are obtained and clearly documented
- Aid developing global deal processes to ensure deals are structured and processed efficiently and aligned with internal company policies while meeting specific customer requirements
- Understand the start-to-end processes to help facilitate all aspects of the role, from initial pricing strategy to order form creation to contract signatures until contract data is finalized within SFDC and our ERP system (Netsuite)
- Occasionally set up contractual data in the ERP (Netsuite)
- Provide ongoing enablement to sales teams on best practices for pricing and contracting
- Support the development of analyses aimed at key metrics and pricing trends and help package the findings so they can be provided to our Executive team
- 3+ years of direct deal desk experience or 5+ years in a similar pricing strategy role
- Experience in a high-tech SaaS environment
- Must be familiar with booking policies, pricing and deal structuring, and sales processes for SaaS
- Proficiency in the construct of software license agreements and services to ensure appropriate approvals are gathered and to advise on booking/revenue recognition consequences
- Understanding of revenue recognition principles particularly under ASC606/ IFRS15
- Experience with reviewing redlines, editing, and negotiating customer contracts
- Experience with Salesforce CRM, DocuSign, Netsuite, Google Suite, MS software, or other closely related tools
- Analytical background with strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate internal resources
- Demonstrated capability to build strong alliances with internal cross-functional business units
- Detail oriented, structured, with a proactive attitude
- Willingness to occasionally travel domestically and internationally for company meetings and/or projects
Nice to Have:
- Experience managing a deal desk, leadership experience
- B.A. or B.S. Degree in relevant area, and/or MBA, CPA, or equivalent experience
