The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer  to join our Engineering Team team in Denver CO or Beaverton OR.

DAT Solutions is seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our expanding team. We are looking for a talented Sr. DevOps Engineer who can apply their skills and experience in the Enterprise DevOps team to standardize and expand the DevSecOps practices on the enterprise scale and help software development teams build and maintain a world-class SaaS environment. should be willing to question current practices and help to push the team forward in the DevOps maturity cycle at Enterprise scale as we are growing and learning organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and continually improve guidelines and automation solutions related to DevSecOps practices including process and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner and Coach development teams to improve and educate teams on DevSecOps practices while being an evangelist at DAT.
  • Participate in system design, platform management, and capacity planning to Optimize tools and processes for efficiency, stability and developer productivity.
  • Continuously evaluate existing systems with industry standards, and make recommendations for improvement. 
  • Passionate about the concept of infrastructure as code and leverages modern tools to define, build and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
  • Champion security, reliability, and scalability best practices across the organization.
  • Assess deficiencies and points of failure in our system and design resolutions.
  • Troubleshooting Kubernetes core issues with system-level services.
  • Apply DevOps thinking across the organization and provide thought leadership. 
  • Work with others to resolve issues in a meaningful and respectful manner.

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • Expertise with AWS and AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Expert-level experience with EKS configuration and Deployments.
  • Continuous Deployment of best practices knowledge and experience working with tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, Helm, Kustomize.
  • A great team player who genuinely believes in solving challenges as a team.
  • Strong experience in systems architecture – particularly in complex, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
  • Ability to program (structured and OO) with more than one high-level language, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript
  • Scripting language experience i.e. NodeJS, Python, Ruby, Bash.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools i.e. Prometheus, NewRelic, Splunk.
  • Expert-level experience working with Terraform.
  • The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills and industry Best practices knowledge.
  • Enjoys the breaking/learning/mastery cycle.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other equivalent engineering or science field, or equivalent combination of education and experience with the development, deployment, and reliability of a large enterprise estate.  
  • 6+ years of experience in a previous DevOps role.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $90,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
