A Little About Us
Yahoo's Media Platform Product team enables core media business capabilities across Yahoo verticals. We provide products and services to help each product vertical enable use cases faster and cost-effectively. As a result, they can leverage advanced capabilities that any independent vertical would not be able to buy or build. The Content Management team within the Media Platform focuses solely on creating the best experience for content creators, from onboarding to engaging with their audience. As the leader of this team, you will be responsible for defining and executing the mission and vision for this product area and working closely with the other Media Platform pillars to create a set of reusable capabilities. In addition, you will work closely with Data Science and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle to empower your team to create experiences that help content creators focus on making the best-in-class content for their audiences.

As a PM, you understand, inspire, and focus your team(s) using excellent listening skills, influence abilities, and crisp, effective communication. You complement these skills with technical knowledge that informs your judgment regarding timelines, scope, quality, priorities, and trade-offs. Ultimately, you are the expert on how products are designed, used, measured, improved, and generate business value. You support this expertise with a keen ability to break down large, complex problems into well-defined, manageable problems and an ability to use data to inform your judgment.
Your Day
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders & customers about product ideas and feature requirements.
  • Aligning with cross-functional leaders to create high-velocity product execution
  • Bringing to market product-based solutions & features across multiple delivery teams (PM, Engineering, Design, marketing, sales, etc.)
  • Aligning with analytics and metrics - KPIs that drive business growth and engagement
  • Setting the mission and vision for the product area and defining a product strategy to achieve the vision.
  • Executing the strategy with the team
  • Creating an environment for your team to be passionate about solving customer problems
  • Providing coaching and mentorship to grow and motivate the team

You Must Have
  • 15+ years experience in a tech company in a related position (PM, Engineering, Project Mgmt, Technical Support, Technical Sales, Technical / Professional Services or Consulting, etc.)
  • An ability to multitask, organize & lead complex projects, detail orientation, and be able to summarize.
  • Experience managing teams of product managers
  • Experience delivering products using Agile / Scrum software development & Engineering practices.
  • Experience working with teams (Marketing, Sales, Service, Support, etc.) and GTM processes.
  • Build an outstanding team and develop a winning attitude among employees
  • Empower a product team and manage their performance.
  • Guide team members by providing coaching and mentoring at desired levels.
  • Provide support to recruit talent for the organization and team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think independently.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills (written, verbal)

Nice To Have
  • Experience in large-scale digital content publishing - CMS systems
  • Experience using ML and AI techniques that drive product features
  • Experience applying process and data modeling activities to streamline user experiences

The compensation for this position ranges from $168,750.00 - $328,125.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about. Most roles don't require specific regular patterns of in-person office attendance.
