Position Overview:

The IT Operations team is a 24/7 mission support cell that ensures that the Cloud One environment is stable and accessible. Their customer is the operators who are using applications within the Cloud One environment. The Sr. It Operations Specialist will provide support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications and hardware. Will handle problems that first tier of help desk support is unable to resolve and may interact with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development to restore operating difficulties. The Senior IT Operations Specialist will simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties and recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains currency and highest level of technical skill in field of expertise
• Provide technical and operational mission support; support to operations to ensure a stable and accessible environment
• Takes ownership and applies expertise on multiple tasks
• Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
• Contributes to deliverables and perform metrics where applicable
• Applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments
• Plans and leads major technology assignments
• Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success
• Ensures platform and network environments are compliant with DoD Enterprise DevSecOps guidance, automated, stable, reliable and available
• Support writing and sizing capabilities, features, and user stories in an increment based on the approved prioritization and identify stretch goals(additional features/stories) for each Scrum team per increment
• Support required automation and tooling to deploy and manage applications quickly
• Functions as a technical expert across the team and tasks
• Lead others as necessary

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience working with and enabling/administering databases
• Deep understanding for DevSecOps methodologies and operational missions
• Experience in providing support to IT operations and troubleshooting and fixing production applications in multiple environments
• Working knowledge of Source Version Control, Build/Release tools and methodologies and Software Build process
• Ability to troubleshoot issues to determine root-cause and drive to resolution
• Ability to work on high performing teams

Skills/Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Linux and scripting(Bash and Python, etc.)
• Knowledge of ServiceNow
• Knowledge of Active Directory
• 8750 Certification or Sec+
• Experience with Cloud Systems and architectures (AWS,Google Cloud, or Azure) with the configuration of AWS EC2 instances and Lambda functions a plus
• Eager and willingness to learn new technologies and gain an expert-level understanding of the latest approaches(auto-scaled cloud-based systems, serverless architectures, cloud/on-premises hybrid solutions)
• Work independently as well as with team members
