Sr. Manager, Mobile Engineering
Job Description
The Role:
Matterport is looking for an experienced engineering leader and mobile expert to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to have an immediate impact on the technology at the heart of our business and our customer value proposition.
This role reports to our VP of Experiences and will lead a team of 7 talented developers. You will oversee the Mobile team, which is responsible for our 3D scanning applications on iOS and Android. These are core apps for Matterport and enable our users to create 3D models with their phones or control a 360 or 3D camera. We write in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android), and in addition to the standard mobile UI work, we also get to focus on high performance, graphics-heavy work. This position is remote - join our team from wherever you call home.

What you will do:
- Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous and high-impact area.
- Work closely with our product and design teams, as well as business stakeholders, to drive and execute on the next set of product innovations required to maintain and accelerate Matterport’s position as an industry leader.
- Lead a team of high caliber software engineers with strong mobile expertise - foster an inclusive team culture, empower, challenge and coach team members to help grow their impact.
- Enable teams to be successful by removing obstacles and developing strategic relationships throughout the business.
- Help set the direction and goals for the team, in terms of project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency.
- Understand and stay current with market trends, emerging technology, and competitors.Â
- Dive into coding and technical tasks as necessary and as time permits after other management duties
Who you are:
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in mobile development
- 3+ years experience leading software engineering teams in a high growth and fast-paced environment
- BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 3+ years work experience)
- Experience in recruiting engineering talent and building out high-performing teams

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,100 to $250,100 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
