Job Summary
The Senior Middle Office Analyst will support the Hedging and Investment operations of the firm and report to the Manager of the Middle Office team. The role will support all trade lifecycle events for F&G’s Hedging and Investment portfolios and play a vital role in the valuation of the firm’s Fixed Income portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the following, with leader direction:
- Proactively seek and drive opportunities to achieve straight-through processing and improve efficiency of trade confirmation and reconciliation processes
- Daily collateral call processing and reconciliation
- Assist with the quarterly valuation process for private placements and mortgage loans
- Oversight and execution of internal asset transfer process to support portfolio rebalancing efforts
- Liaise with counterparties to track, calculate and reconcile asset settlement and resolve discrepancies from investment activity
- Actively monitor the portfolio for eligible collateral as defined by the borrowing program
- Analysis and execution of complex and non-routine deliverables
- Support the oversight of outsourced arrangements and play a supporting role in relationship management
- Ad-hoc analysis as it pertains to requests from internal stakeholders, asset managers, or external counterparties
- Steady involvement in ongoing and firmwide projects that impact the Middle Office team
- Conduct pricing analysis of the fixed income portfolio using quantitative models and other tools
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business.
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience; Asset Management and/or Insurance experience required
- Advanced understanding of Fixed Income, Equity, and Derivative asset classes required
- Proficient with Microsoft office applications
- Excellent analytical skills required and Business Intelligence experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Experience with concepts impacting the life cycle for the suite of fixed income and derivative asset types
- Ability to analyze market data, macroeconomic trends, and other relevant factors that impact fixed income prices
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks & prioritize in fast paced environment
- Self-directed individual who works well with teams
- Understand how consumers are using our information
- Understand the implication of department strategic initiatives
- Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- A passion for new challenges, leadership and delivering results.
- Ability to think ahead and conduct strategic planning.
- Expertise and experience in improving processes and utilizing technology to create efficiencies
