Job Description 

We are at a transition point on the Mobile team. We have started the process of replacing the current hybrid iOS app with an app fully utilizing Swift/SwiftUI. On top of the work of converting the existing hybrid flows to SwiftUI, we will be replacing many of the mobile web based shopping screens with native versions. Over time we will also be enhancing and adding more “smart" features to assist customers building our products, as well as eventually going the rest of the way to a fully native app. 

The Sr. Mobile App Developer, reporting to the Sr. Tech Lead for Mobile will be critical in rewriting the app following the best practices of the selected architecture. This position will implement code using the latest app architectures to allow for future feature growth and maintainability. 

The mobile team is distributed, with the hiring Manager in California, a developer in Colorado, a Product Manager in the Caribbean, 2 UI/UX designers in Hungary and 4 developers and 1 QA in Moldova. 

This position is based remotely.

What You’ll Do 

  • Evangelize the latest architectural best practices, for Swift/SwiftUI application development.
  • Contribute at a high level to both the development of the app and contributing to the architectural decisions the app will be built on.
  • Pair programming with engineers, and help train and mentor other developers on the team around Swift/SwiftUI.
  • Attend team and company meetings, usually limited to 1-2 per day. Meetings generally occur between: 6AM to 9AM PST, along with occasional, additional 1 on 1 time with Tech Lead and Product Manager.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers and QA, to design, implement and deploy fully tested new features and fix bugs.
  • Actively participate in team development initiatives, trainings, and other events 

What You’ll Need 

  • Desire to work in a people-first environment as a self-motivated, strong team player 
  • 6+ years of mobile application development experience, 4+ years of consumer iOS application development experience in Swift/SwiftUI
  • Experience in modern Swift/SwiftUI application framework, Composable Architecture preferred
  • Desire to write concise, well thought out, tested code
  • Familiarity with backend technologies and APIs such as: AWS, GraphQL
  • Demonstrable portfolio of released applications on the App Store
  • Passionate about mentoring peer developers, providing code reviews, etc
  • Willingness to learn 
  • Intermediate English speaking skills, level B2 or greater 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or another related college degree
