Sr. Product Manager, Trust and Safety-Marketplace Quality

The Trust & Safety team’s mission is to be the world's most trusted work marketplace. Our Marketplace Quality team supports this mission through the implementation of policies and products that ensure we maintain a credible and safe work marketplace.

As our Sr. Product Manager responsible for Marketplace Quality, you’ll build products and introduce experiences that shape how we protect the work marketplace of the future, enforcing rules for platform content and customer behavior. You'll partner with investigators, analysts, detection and intelligence experts to prevent circumvention, target scammers, and remove fake accounts, while carefully avoiding impacting good users.

• Define the strategic vision for developing the infrastructure and product experiences needed to prevent bad actors from creating fake accounts and engaging in scams and other malicious activity in a manner that doesn’t impinge on healthy, marketplace growth.
• Develop a prioritized product roadmap aimed at ensuring healthy customer behavior, specifically targeted towards improving trust.
• Drive a multi-year roadmap focused on building robust tools for Upwork’s largest customers
• Deliver measurable results to protect our customers from scams and abuse on Upwork.

• Prior experience as a product manager within trust & safety, fraud, risk management, or with law enforcement
• Experience working closely with machine learning experts to develop early funnel detection for identifying fake, likely to be fraudulent accounts
• Proven ability to design sound risk management experiences that effectively stop bad actors with minimal impact to healthy growth
• Insatiable curiosity and an eye for anomaly detection.
• Creativity and a desire to try out of the box solutions - and comfort abandoning those approaches quickly if they don't work.
• An ability to transition seamlessly between highly quantitative areas and areas with no data and limited known information.
• Flexibility to adapt to constantly evolving goals and priorities
