Job Description

commercetools - we are:

  • The competitive sort: We didn’t become the fastest growing, highest ever valued SaaS software company in digital commerce with nearly 100% year-over-year growth by sitting on the sidelines.
  • Inspired: Continually exploring what’s possible — the innovators of headless commerce, the visionaries behind MACH — our patented tech has radically disrupted the world of enterprise ecommerce software - and we are just getting started.
  • Valued: Smart, strong, passionate individuals hailing from over 50 countries across the globe, speaking over 43 languages, and collectively embracing diversity, encouraging inclusion, and fostering a culture of caring.
  • Driven: We push the limits, technology, and ourselves to retain the trust of some of the world’s leading and fastest growing brands every single day.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Mid-Market Sr. Sales Director to contribute to our rapid business growth in a fast-paced, collaborative, and fun environment.

Based in the East Coast, the Sr. Sales Director will lead our growing Mid-Market sales team, focused on scaling the business and driving revenue growth, including new logo acquisition and expansion of existing accounts, and increasing market share for our modern commerce platform. As a leader of the team, you will advise prospective customers on our innovative approach for building a better commerce experience.

You will provide hands-on coaching and guidance to the sales team and build operational rigor into the business with an emphasis on data-driven forecasting, effective sales and marketing strategies, and disciplined CRM management.

Your Mission:

  • Lead the Mid-Market East Coast sales team, driving the teams to over achieve their monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
  • Own outbound pipeline creation and manage the sales team accordingly
  • Use data-driven decisions to create, manage, and close deals, including business planning, evaluation of key performance metrics, accurate summaries and analysis of activity, results and forecasting
  • Work cross-functionally to understand and implement initiatives to increase pipeline and bookings, differentiate our solutions, and improve the effectiveness and productivity of the team
  • Foster continuous improvement, ensuring that all sales activities are effective and scalable
  • Provide regular, data-based updates to the sales leadership team and executive partners regarding progress against quota attainment, team performance, and any challenges or roadblocks that you encounter along the way

What you need to succeed:

  • 5+ years in commerce or related SaaS sales leadership experience running complex deal cycles
  • Experience building a go-to market strategy and sales plan, establishing a new sales motion, and building a culture of operational excellence
  • Good comprehension of sales performance metrics with an extreme sense of urgency to deliver
  • Excellent communication (interpersonal and presentation) and closing skills, with experience applying these skills in previous sales leadership roles
  • Ability to develop and understand complex business processes/business models with a consultative approach
  • Experience of Command of the Message and MEDDPICC methodologies to successfully drive sales performance
