We are seeking full stack software / data engineers to join us and help modernize the healthcare industry.

Contribute as a Senior Software Engineer to a dynamic team developing a web application that identifies and tracks critical opportunities for market managers and contract negotiators at Cigna. The application provides end-users a pipeline of cost-saving opportunities and enables them to discuss/research them, review suggested actions on them and ultimately report savings generated. The Opportunity Detection application lives at the intersection of software engineering, data science and health insurance business operations.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS

• A focus on DevOps and CICD pattern engineering
• You will develop full stack applications that are scalable, robust, and thoughtfully designed. You are comfortable with all layers of the stack, from the database to the front-end.
• You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from design to implementation.
• You build components in modular, reusable fashion that makes it easy to re-use.
• You will mentor junior developers and support their learning experience
• You will ship production code to a large customer base, and will take full ownership of your work, including testing and deployments.
• You will collaborate with other software engineers, domain experts, and end-users, to build the right solutions that address our business needs. You know how to navigate an organization to find the people and answers you need.
• You know how to make engineering trade-offs and how to communicate them to others. You can prioritize many competing tasks on an aggressive timeline.
• You are passionate about learning - about healthcare as well as technology.
• You are entrepreneurial, business-minded, and are willing to take risks and advocate new ideas

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years being part of Agile teams - Scrum or Kanban
• 4+ years in Object-oriented or functional language: Typescript, Python, Java, C++, Go, etc.
• Infrastructure as code experience - Terraform/Cloudformation/Jenkins
• Cloud experience - AWS preferred
• RDBMS knowledge (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and experience working with large data sets
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred or the equivalent in education and experience

• Prior healthcare experience

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 115,100 - 191,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
