phData is the leading tech-enabled services company for Snowflake in North America. The founders and leaders are deeply technical, having written books and developed many of the software frameworks in the modern data ecosystem. Over the past 18 months, we’ve selectively acquired other services companies related to the modern data stack and analytics. We're a team of stellar technologists and have been ahead of key trends in Data Engineering, DataOps, MLOps, and Data Visualization.
We’re looking for a Senior Vice President of Services that will help lead us through our next phase of growth. We’ve built our brand and our position in the market on the back of delivering incredible results for our clients. As a result, we have contracts with some of the largest and well-known companies in the world. We are looking for a leader that can help us achieve the next level of scale. This includes increasing larger and more strategic customer projects (>$10M), a larger delivery organization, and developing the next set of leaders. We’re looking for a leader that can help us achieve this scale while also staying authentic to our engineering and positive culture.Â
Vice President of Services Job Requirements:
- 15+ years of successful delivery including 10+ years in a delivery leadership role
- Proven experience leading global delivery teams, leaders, talent development, training programs, compensation plans, and a delivery culture in high growth
- Have owned global utilization, gross margin, revenue, hiring forecasts, and other key delivery metrics for all practices and global delivery centers.
- BA/BS in computer science, engineering, business, operations, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Strong leadership skills required in order to motivate, mentor, and inspire a team of working professionals
- Strong cross-functional leader and team enabler
- Exceptional verbal and written skills
- Polished client and internal customer presentation skills
- High level of business acumen
- Ability to think outside the box and exceed established goals
- Solid organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task and handle numerous projects simultaneously
- Do not need to be an expert in data, machine learning, Snowflake, or Data Engineering (highly preferred)
About you:
- You are a builder:Â
- You’ve built global delivery teams, leaders, talent development, training programs, compensation plans, and a delivery culture that has grown from our scale today (350 delivery consultants) to 1,000 people.Â
- You have experience managing teams of delivery working on very large software implementation projects (greater than $10M).
- You’ve built and coordinated delivery teams across multiple (3+) international delivery centers.Â
- You build systems of accountability and performance for delivery excellence and culture around this.
- Have owned global utilization, gross margin, revenue, hiring forecasts, and other key delivery metrics for all practices and global delivery centers.
- Responsible for project and subscription resource allocation and aligning on start dates for all deals.
- Collaborate closely with sales on deal structures, customer needs, start dates, extensions, expansions, etc., ensuring a strong partnership between demand and supply.
- Responsible for goal setting, performance management and developing/managing incentive plans of practice leads.
- Collaborate closely with product and finance for service offerings, pricing, level costs, forecasts, and all other key metrics and items.
- Proactively develops key objectives and results that align with company goals
- Owns problems, the ultimate resolution and drives the solution.
- Creates a plan and along with cost and timing for resolution
- Is a balanced decision maker and weighs the needs of their part of the business with the needs of other groups and the overall business.
- Strategic regarding what needs hands-on and what can be delegated.
- Responsible and accountable for the development of the organization structure and strategy within the functions of the business that they own
- Develops layers of talent within the organization (i.e. VP’s are multipliers).
