General Summary

The Staff Accountant position is primarily responsible for providing support via general accounting functions to Corporate Accounting, Management, and Staff; and assisting with projects such as software updates, GAAP changes, and such other projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of Journal Entries.
• Maintenance of SAP system general ledger, including load and audit of journal entries and other transaction data.
• Account reconciliation and analysis, including bank accounts, key asset and liability accounts.
• Audit of Travel and Entertainment expense reports for compliance with Company Policies; ensure that all expense reports are processed in accordance with internal guidelines.
• Reconciliation of daily system feeds between GSS, IFM, SAP & Concur.
• Assist in the preparation of the Renketsu Package of Murata and its affiliates to the parent company.
• Assist in month-end reconciliation of Sales, COGS, and Gross Margin.
• Support JSOX internal audit functions.
• Manage fixed asset system, including calculating depreciation.
• Support Accounts Receivable team with tariffs, system close, and other activities.
• Special projects assigned by the Accounting Manager (ie. effects of policy changes on financial performance).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Three+ years of Accounting work experience.
• Ability to demonstrate an Intermediate proficiency level using Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to demonstrate a basic proficiency level using Microsoft Word.
• Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills.
• Ability to demonstrate intermediate-level knowledge of accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience using SAP.
