Staff Accountant (Contract)

At Seeq, our Finance department plays a crucial role in supporting the company's growth by maintaining precise financial transactions, producing clear and accurate reporting, developing logical forecasting strategies, and managing efficient expense reporting systems. In this environment, the accountant is a key player, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, optimizing the expense reporting process, and driving the timely collection of cash from customers.

This role is a perfect fit for someone who is not just skilled in finance and accounting but also enjoys being part of a forward-thinking team while possessing the adaptability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Expense Reimbursement Management: Diligently review and approve employee expense reimbursement reports, ensuring adherence to company policies and accuracy in accounting.
• Accounts Receivable Oversight: Efficiently manage the collection of outstanding accounts receivable balances, maintaining timely follow-ups and clear communication with clients. Establish escalation as needed to ensure receivables are collected in a timely manner.
• Sales Order and Invoicing Support: Create and process sales orders, actively supporting the customer invoicing process for optimal efficiency and accuracy.
• Invoice Submission: Skillfully submit non-standard invoices to customer portals, ensuring compliance with specific customer requirements.
• Accounts Payable: Review general ledger coding by the AP team, schedule payments to meet due date deadlines, and respond to AP-related questions.
• Email Management: Triage the accounting department's email inbox, prioritizing and addressing inquiries and requests effectively.
• Digital Mail Management: Oversee the handling and organization of digital mail, ensuring timely and accurate distribution and filing.

• Educational Background: An associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software. Experience with Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and Expensify is a plus.
• Fast Learner: Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts, processes, and software, adapting effectively to changing environments and tasks.
• Communication Proficiency: Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
• Organizational Acumen: Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Adaptability: Capability to work both individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Collaborative Approach: Exceptional skills in collaboration and internal customer support, demonstrating a team-oriented mindset.
• Remote Work Experience: Comfortable working in a remote environment, showcasing adaptability to remote work settings.
