THE ROLE

We’re looking for a seasoned data scientist and a thought leader who will be able to identify and solve critical business problems in Medely’s rapidly growing healthcare marketplace. As an early and senior member of the data team, you will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the product and drive large initiatives from end to end. In this role, you will partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to develop science and analytics solutions.

The Impact You'll Make:

• Identify business and product opportunities that are currently unaddressed, and build the insights and technology to drive the impact

• Create advanced machine learning and optimization algorithms to enhance Medely's marketplace efficiency on a large scale

• Design experiments and observational studies to draw actionable conclusions

• Orient our teams around data-driven product development, by driving the creation of logging, metrics, data visualizations, and diagnostic tools

• Deliver ad-hoc analyses and reports to support business needs, investigate, triage, and resolve metrics-based issues without heavy guidance

• Create and share compelling presentations that motivate and inspire the team to build with conviction

Who You Are:

• Ph.D./M.S. in a quantitative field with 3+ years of experience or Bachelor with 7+ years of work experience as a data scientist or data engineer

• Experience with marketplace optimizations in pricing or matching would be a big plus

• Experience with experimental design and analysis

• Proficient in SQL & business intelligence tools

• Competency in Python, R, or another scripting language

• Ability to analyze data and condense data to tell a persuasive story

• Proven ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams

• Self-starter, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, drive change through influence, and collaborate effectively with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders

• Excited and hungry to try new tools and processes to achieve results

• Passionate about building delightful products for our customers

The estimated base compensation for this role is $164,000 to $200,000.

Compensation Range: $164K - $190K
