The Opportunity:

We are looking for a passionate and innovative Staff Engineer with a focus on Cloud Infrastructure Automation to join our team. Our Staff Engineer will play an important role in shaping the digital infrastructure of our global operations.  

Your Mission:

• Champion the adoption of an automation-first approach for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), spanning across our diverse cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Establish, evolve, and promote best practices in cloud management, encompassing aspects like resource naming conventions, security policies, and resiliency standards
• Coordinate infrastructure updates in close liaison with internal stakeholders. This involves orchestrating large-scale, service-impacting activities while ensuring minimal disruption to operations
• Develop strategies that promote secure autonomy, enabling our teams to effectively and safely use cloud infrastructure resources
• Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing across teams, ensuring best practices in cloud infrastructure management permeate beyond our product group
• Be a key member in helping us to continue improving of our cloud infrastructure management strategy

What you need to succeed:

• Proven experience in cloud infrastructure management and automation, in a lead or senior role
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices with tools like Terraform, supported by the use of OpenPolicyAgent or other policy frameworks
• Expertise in working with major cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure, and managed Kubernetes solutions from these providers
• Experience coordinating infrastructure updates in a complex, large-scale environment
• Strong understanding of cloud security policies and resiliency measures
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to proactively engage with stakeholders at various levels and foster a collaborative environment

Nice to have:

• Experience with designing a self-service, developer-focused Infrastructure as Code solution, ideally backed by an automated testing framework
• Experience with OpenPolicyAgent
