Staff Software Engineer, Backend - Marketing Campaigns

At HubSpot we have been on an incredible journey building world-class CRM Marketing Sales and Services products that help millions of businesses grow better. As part of this journey we are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help craft and execute a vision for the future of how marketers drive success for their businesses.

In this customer-oriented product engineering role you’ll work with a team of engineers to build products that help marketing teams across the globe build strategies align their teams and manage the work that goes into launching remarkable campaigns. You’ll help set the vision that will place Campaigns at the center of the work that marketers do day-to-day inside HubSpot.

There are 26 engineers currently in the group and our teams are mostly located in EMEA with members in Ireland the UK and Germany. This is a backend focused role (we use Java) but also working closely with a frontend (TypeScript/React) team inside the same group.

Staff Software Engineers are highly productive impactful and trusted engineers who leverage their skills and knowledge to work autonomously on the most complex projects and set technical direction. Very complex problems can include those that are very broad very deep or problems that require spanning across many teams.

As a Staff Software Engineer on Marketing Campaigns you will:

• Write and ship production code that has meaningful user and business impact

• Work with a small cross-functional team of engineers where autonomy and flexibility are highly valued

• Collaborate with HubSpotters all over the company whether in engineering product design research marketing sales etc

• Get exposure to how HubSpot works as a business

• Be empowered to show up as your authentic self and choose a work style and location where you can do your best work whether that’s at home in an office or a blend of the two
