GoFundMe is looking to build out our InfraComms engineering team to help establish a robust communication platform. We are searching for a talented software engineer who’s interested in changing the lives of millions of people for the better, personal and professional growth, and having a real impact on our products and users!
- You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and data science, to define, drive and deliver innovative solutions at GoFundMe.
- You’ll design and architect systems to create new product solutions as well as be an active contributor to the overall architecture design of back end systems.
- You'll be responsible for the entire product development lifecycle which include architectural design, development, deployment, documentation and maintenance of new and existing features.
- You’ll ensure the reliability, security, and maintainability of the systems and services owned by the team.
- You’ll provide clear technical direction and mentorship to the team.
- You’ll contribute to the growth of the team by looking for opportunities to improve efficiency, processes and productivity.
- You’ll participate in on-call rotations to assist in troubleshooting urgent engineering issues.

- 8+ years of professional experience building and shipping high performance API infrastructures, as well as consumer facing applications.
- Excellent understanding of distributed software architecture with experience debugging distributed systems with high data loads.
- Strong experience working with backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, PHP).
- Experience and proficiency in schema design in relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience building event-driven systems on services like SQS/SNS, Kafka, Redis
- Experience working with teams in an agile, intensely iterative software development process.
- Experience with performance and optimization problems and the ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
- Experience with test-driven development and containerization.
- Experience with application performance monitoring and log analytics tools. We use New Relic and Sumo Logic.

- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD tools.
- Experience with Localization.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $150,000 - $200,000 + equity + benefits. As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
