Job Description

Team: IT

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Growth based in United States.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and growth strategy, focused on improving how users discover, evaluate, and access critical mental healthcare services. The Staff Software Engineer, Growth will help optimize end-to-end acquisition and intake funnels, turning complex healthcare workflows into seamless, data-driven user experiences. You will work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to identify high-impact opportunities that improve conversion and patient outcomes. The role combines deep technical execution with strong product thinking and a strong focus on measurable impact. You will also contribute to platform improvements, automation, and experimentation frameworks that accelerate growth. This is a high-autonomy position for an engineer who thrives in ambiguous problem spaces and cares about building systems that directly improve access to care.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the design and development of scalable full-stack solutions that improve acquisition, onboarding, and intake funnel performance across the platform.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities in care discovery, assessment, and booking workflows, translating them into technical solutions that improve conversion and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to define experiments, implement A/B testing frameworks, and evaluate growth initiatives.
  • Build platforms, internal tools, and automation systems that enable faster iteration, improved decision-making, and reduced operational complexity.
  • Analyze user behavior, system performance, and product metrics to identify friction points and validate the effectiveness of engineering solutions.
  • Improve system architecture and engineering practices by mentoring peers, contributing to design reviews, and raising technical standards across the team.
  • Develop integrations with external APIs and third-party partners, ensuring reliability, scalability, and observability in production systems.
  • Contribute to simplifying complex healthcare workflows, including insurance, compliance, and care matching processes.
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software or equivalent high-impact engineering experience.
    • Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails and modern TypeScript/React development.
    • Deep experience with relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, data modeling, and safe migrations.
    • Proven experience integrating and maintaining external APIs in production, with attention to reliability, retries, and failure handling.
    • Strong product intuition with the ability to evaluate trade-offs across user experience, technical constraints, and business impact.
    • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze metrics, logs, and dashboards to measure system and product performance.
    • Experience operating autonomously in ambiguous, cross-functional environments with high ownership.
    • Excellent communication skills, including writing technical design docs, RFCs, and incident postmortems.
    • Experience working in regulated environments where privacy, security, and auditability are critical.
    • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering productivity tools.
    • Preferred: experience with modular monoliths, event-driven systems, or regulated healthcare/PHI environments.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary range of $175,000–$225,000 annually
      • Stock options and equity participation
      • Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
      • Pet insurance coverage
      • Life insurance and short/long-term disability coverage
      • 401(k) retirement plan
      • Unlimited PTO and sick leave
      • Paid parental leave
      • Fully remote work with flexible scheduling
      • Inclusive, mission-driven engineering culture focused on impact and collaboration
