Staff Software Engineer/Team Lead

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Staff Software Engineer/Team Lead with extensive team building and mentorship experience and extremely strong coding abilities to join our growing Engineering team. You’ll join a global, highly engaged and technical group that is well-versed in building enterprise-ready and extremely secure software systems.

You will have an innate understanding of how to grow and nurture a diverse and inclusive engineering team, a broad knowledge of programming languages and paradigms, the capability of understanding a larger platform architecture and depth of experience in putting all of these skills into action to solve complex technical problems. Additionally, you will bring strong, cross-timezone communication skills to the team through your experience working on global projects in your past roles.

We are looking for somebody with:

• At least seven years of professional experience in software development
• At least three years of professional team leadership experience
• Strong software engineering skills in more than one language (Kotlin, Ruby, Scala, Java, Go)
• Experience leading or helping manage a team of engineers
• Experience coaching/mentoring junior team members
• Some experience in streaming data (preferably Kafka)
• Knowledge of infrastructure and cloud (preferably AWS); experience with infrastructure-as-code (preferably Terraform)
• Experience with DevOps – DBs, pipelines, monitoring, deployment, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery
• An understanding of data modeling and architecture

Compensation

The base pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to Qualifications, Geographical Location, Education/certifications, Experience, Skill Sets, Training, and other business and organizational needs. 

At Bugcrowd, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for the position of Staff Software Engineer/Team Lead is: $128,340-$169,600.

This position may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program or commission plan, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
