SamCart is looking for a collaborative, conscientious, and experienced Staff SRE to join our team. In this role you will establish and mature good practices across SamCart’s cloud infrastructure in AWS and GCP, considering application performance and reliability, multi-region deployment, disaster recovery, and security. Be responsible for maintaining application uptime, participate in 24x7 on-call rotation, building infrastructure-as-code, and collaborate with our engineering teams to build features that are resilient and highly available. Finally, you will join our elite team of high caliber engineers, product managers and designers to build a brand-new, world-class e-commerce engine to power the future of SamCart and revolutionize commerce on the Internet.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate cloud-based infrastructure/services in AWS and GCP, focusing on IaC, observability, and resilience.

• Performance and security monitoring
• Disaster recovery, and 24x7 support, incident management
• Mature and establish patterns for teams to do observability
• Define and uphold SLI/SLO’s, including subsequent error budgets and helping teams keep their services resilient and available
• Ensure efficiency and predictability of deployments and upgrades.
• Mentor a team across the full sociotechnical spectrum of SRE capabilities.
• Documenting “tribal” knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proficient with multi-cloud cloud architecture and cloud platforms (AWS+GCP)
• Mastery of advanced tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Service Mesh, ArgoCD, etc.)
• Proficient with cloud-hosted CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.)
• Fluency in Go or a similar language, and scripting languages (PHP, TypeScript, Python, etc.)
• Experience with Kubernetes and Helm and/or Kustomize. 
• Terraform experience, or IaC experience.

The US salary range for this full-time position is $170,000-$180,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
