Staff Technical Program Manager
Job Description
Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.Â
Nearly half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future. Too often it’s because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium-sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.
As a Staff Technical Program Manager serving the Shared Services/Builder Tools domain area, you will oversee the development and launch of new capabilities, features, and processes aimed to ensure operational efficiencies for the Human Interest Platform and developer efficiency. You will partner with Product Managers, engineers and tech & business leaders to deliver roadmaps and advocate for our strategy and plan. You aim to ensure the teams are running smoothly with continuous improvement to our goals.
You will own both large and small-scale technical projects and programs, develop against strategic roadmaps, and create and enhance partnerships across the Human Interest Tech Org.
What you get to do every day
- Manage delivery of large, high-impact programs aimed to improve operational efficiencies for our Shared Services, Builder Tools and InfoSec domain areas
- Promote strategic planning, partnering with Product Management and other technical leaders to develop project plans, roadmaps, dependency identification, and resourcing plans.Â
- Be a leader of the team. You are well-versed in understanding trade-offs, knowing how best to evaluate and communicate them to leadership.
- Identify and mitigate risks to delivery by clarifying scope, removing blockers, and ensuring clear communication between appropriate stakeholders
- Assist teams in creating schedules, setting goals, and identifying milestones to ensure success at the individual project and team portfolio levelÂ
- Track and report progress of projects and goals in an efficient, audience appropriate manner
- Ensure longer-term strategic activities such as roadmap planning, resourcing, and cost management are successfully completed by teams
- Support the rhythm of the business by creating and optimizing processes relating to execution, reporting, and planning
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and impact; implement metrics to establish Portfolio, Budget, and Project measurements
- Focus on delivery and outcome, not just process. Uphold a culture of focus, delivery, and accountability across the organization
- Â
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- Technical knowledge. Able to contribute to technical design discussions. Ideally working knowledge with AWS technologies
- 7+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Excellent collaboration and leadership skills
- Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
- Experience working with cloud-based service-oriented architectures
- Proven record of developing productive working relationships across a diverse set of users, owners, and executives on the way to building and delivering successful products
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Please feel free to apply to this position even if you do not meet 100% of the requirements listed above.
