Summary:
As a Staff/Senior Accountant working remotely, you will report to the Controller and be responsible for all the accounting for our domestic and international subsidiaries following US GAAP / ASC606. In addition, the senior accountant will use their knowledge of GAAP/ASC606 to achieve an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting process for the accounting team.
What You Will Do:
- Coordinate the monthly closing process for all Securly entities, including all required journal entries and analytical review of financial statements
- Ensuring compliance with financial and technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and international accounting standards
- Develop finance and business presentations and related support materials
- Prepare timely and accurate financial management reports
- Establish accounting policies and procedures and drive compliance
- Provide strategic thinking to optimize the effectiveness of Securly’s accounting functions globally and enable a scalable operating model and BPO structure
- Continue to drive process improvements to the Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report processes
- Eventually, play a leadership role in helping to scale and elevate the global accounting function to become a best-in-class organization
- Perform monthly, and quarterly close activities, including month-end journal entries, reconciliations, revenue recognition activities, and preparing financial statement reports in the NetSuite ERP system.
- Review contracts and analyze revenue recognition arrangements to ensure accordance with ASC 606 and related US GAAP pronouncements and company policy
- Work collaboratively with Revenue Operations and Business Process teams to drive operational efficiencies and best practices in revenue processes
- Ensure sales tax compliance in all states
- Own and improve upon existing accounting, reporting, and financial operations for revenue and accounts receivables
- Assist with preparing, maintaining, and reviewing bank reconciliations, prepaid amortization schedules, fixed asset register, and lease accounting
- Assist with processing and reviewing AP invoices and payments and recording month-end accrued liabilities
- Assist with intercompany elimination processes and subsidiaries
- Assist with completing flux analysis on the balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Assist in providing audit support for control and substantive testing
- Assist in executing and improving internal controls and preparing control documentation for accounting processes
- Enhance and document policies, procedures, and controls
- Become an expert on our billing and revenue recognition system to troubleshoot issues, recommend improvements and implement changes
- Support the Accounting Manager with special projects, including system implementation and improving internal processes and controls
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or similar
- 3+ years of total general accounting experience in the Tech / SaaS domain
- 2+years of audit experience at a Big 4 firm
- Strong US GAAP knowledge
- Experienced with ASC 606
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Experience with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
- Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- MBA/CPA certified or in the process of attaining the CPA
- Purchase price accounting experience through M&A
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization and cross-functionally
- Experience with financial systems (Salesforce, NetSuite) peferred
- Experience in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment preferred
