We are looking for an enthusiastic intern for our small but mighty PR leadership team where great things are happening. We frequently appear in top tier media outlets such as TIME, Fortune, on NBC, CNN, and have the leading earned share of voice in the category. An internship with us will give you a hands-on learning experience across all facets of a successful strategic communications team. Responsibilities:

  • Support the Vice President of PR and Thought leadership in creation of a content plan
  • Research new trends that can be developed into pitch angles 
  • Utilize media monitoring tools to identify new opportunities for our spokespeople 
  • Work closely with clinicians on media briefing notes and compiling social media copy to help them share their wins 
  • Work closely with the marketing team to help understand any trends that might affect strategic communications
  • Help research and maintain a calendar of upcoming panels and events relevant to our organization and its leaders  
  • Assist in weekly industry media analysis 
  • Help create a bi-weekly report on accomplishments that is shared with the organization


Background:

The successful candidate will be a college student with a minor or major in the field of Strategic Communications, PR or communications overall. They will have done research within or outside the school setting, have formulated and presented around a topic of interest and are interested in mental health care. They can prove an ability to balance through extra curricular activities from either high school or college, and have demonstrated an ability to deliver under pressure in either an academic or sports environment.

  • College student Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • Can demonstrate average college grades of B or more to date via transcripts
  • Studies for a major or minor with focus on Strategic communications, PR, or Marketing
  • Can speak to a passion for mental health care as a category
  • Can demonstrate strong presentation skills, in person and in writing
  • Is a voracious media consumer, keeping up-to-date on the latest news and viral trends 
  • Is a clear communicator 
  • Comfortable with interviewing others and can summarize learnings in a clear and concise manner
  • Lives the Thriveworks values of Integrity, Community, Access, Purpose and Quality
  • Demonstrates can-do-attitude
  • Knowledge of Google office, or powerpoint, chat, excel, word docs
  • Knowledge of Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, and other social media
  • Multimedia and ability for video creation a plus
