Strategic Partnerships Manager, Motive Card (US)
Job Description
Who we are:Â
Motive builds technology to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of businesses that power the physical economy. Motive combines IoT hardware with AI-powered applications to connect and automate physical operations. Motive is one of the fastest-growing software companies in the world, serving more than 120,000 businesses, across a wide range of industries including trucking and logistics, construction, oil and gas, food and beverage, field service, agriculture, passenger transit, and delivery.
Motive is built on four foundational attributes; Own It, Less but Better, Build Trust, and Unlock Potential. This has taken our company to great heights, including being recognized by Fortune for Best Workplaces, Forbes Best Startup Employers, and Comparably for our Best Global Culture, Sales Team, Leadership Team, Career Growth, and CEO for Diversity. We’re proud to receive an employee net promoter score of 63 (according to Comparably) which places Motive in the top 5% of companies with 4,000 employees or more.Â
Today, our team is made up of more than 3,000 employees, located across the world, providing support to a wide range of customers. While most of our employees are remote, many have the opportunity to work on-site at any of our 8 global office locations. Visit our careers website to learn more about opportunities at Motive.Â
At Motive, we believe that our customers operate most effectively when their chosen vendors work together. In this role, you will identify strategic partnership opportunities within focused categories, identify and negotiate solutions that drive value for Motive, our customers, and our partners, and then work cross-functionally to bring these partnerships to life. You should have a keen understanding of how to align incentives, as well as a general familiarity with modern cloud-based SaaS platforms, credit cards, and affiliate relationships, so that you can understand what’s possible, and what’s not.
The ideal candidate will have a natural deal-maker instinct, be a strong communicator with a bias towards data-driven solutions, have operating experience and demonstrated success in an entrepreneurial, high-performing culture within a fast-moving environment that challenges the status quo, and will be an expert in driving strategic alignment among cross-functional stakeholders. The candidate will be comfortable working both independently and as a team, but always take initiative and accountability.
What You’ll Do:Â- Research, identify, and evaluate new potential partnerships with relevant third parties by following market trends and utilizing internal data sources
- Own the deal process: identify the right partners, negotiating the best possible terms, collaborate closely with your team and rally other internal stakeholders behind your vision, close the opportunity in a timely manner, drive successful partnership launches, maintain and retain the partnerships you win
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of how Motive’s products work individually and collectively, and work closely with the Product team to problem solve and deliver on Motive’s objectives through leveraging third parties
- Identify and collaborate with your team to develop new offerings that work for both Motive and our partners
- Monitor overall performance of your portfolio of partnerships
- Build deep relationships with key stakeholders within Motive, along with key players within current and prospective partners
- Become a subject matter expert on the fleet payments/rewards/loyalty space, and a point of contact for the Motive Card partner network
- Be comfortable working with a variety of cloud-based SaaS tools to assist in your daily activities
- 5+ years of experience working in partnerships, growth operations, and/or sales leadership role. Ideally, you would have experience driving enterprise scale partnerships within a high-growth environment.
- Proven understanding of channel operations and sales processes, systems, and tools
- An organizational bridge-builder; someone who knows how to quickly drive alignment and build momentum across the organization, as well as influence without authority
- Strong data orientation; demonstrated experience using data to determine where to invest energy and resources
- Domain experience within the commercial fuel industry, broader transportation and logistics industry, B2B or consumer credit card industry, and/or software development industry (SaaS partnerships) are all advantageous
- Tremendous work ethic; strong bias-to-action
