BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: All applicants must meet the basic education requirement as described below. (Must also meet the Additional Qualification Requirements below). Having a bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-14: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience includes: having knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods essential to plan and evaluate programs and policies and to persuade key officials to accept and implement recommendations; understanding of principles and policies of medical standards including knowledge of research programs, standards, terminology and diseases in order to make immediate policy determinations and to advise key personnel within and outside the organization; capable of analyzing, evaluating and providing expert advice and consultation, as well as knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state of-the-art technology in the position's highly complex program areas of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues; uses expert skills in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures in the coordination of research projects and studies; performing complex analytical
studies and interpretation of results to coordinate the evaluation of programs/research projects and
to recommend improvements; and to communicate, both orally and in writing, and to make clear,
convincing presentations: explaining and justifying recommendations, represent the agency and assigned program or project areas; providing guidance and advising program administrators, responding to inquiries, and preparing reports.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but will require visiting the work locations of all programs.
