SW Developer- Qiskit Runtime- Summer internship 2024- Research Lab

Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for an MsC or PhD student to join the quantum computing group at the IBM Research – Haifa. As a software developer in IBM Quantum your job will be to write code for the suite of software tools and cloud services that are part of our full-stack approach to delivering IBM’s computing systems to developers and research scientists.
Areas of software include software architecture cloud microservices cloud APIs and database solutions (among other areas).

The focus of the role is on the upper layers of the SW stack specifically the components used by IBM Quantum users to submit and manage their quantum programs. As part of the role you will be working in and agile and collaborative environment together with other members of the broader IBM Quantum team.

This position is located in Haifa Tel-Aviv or Remote.

Our summer internship program offer you an opportunity to join our research team for 3 months internship (working 5 days a week) in either Haifa or Tel Aviv sites (according to each internship). During the internship you will be working with our talented researcher on top projects helping create the next generation of AI security quantum cloud and much more.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* Experience contributing to open-source software
* Proficiency with Github
* Experience developing for a cloud environment
* Familiarity with quantum error mitigation methods
* Background in quantum computing and/or quantum information theory
