System Software Test Engineer

ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.We are seeking highly motivated Software Test Engineers to support opportunities in Moorestown, NJ.

Responsibilities: Work in a collaborative team providing Integration and Test support for the development and sustainment of Mission Critical Real-Time Systems, performing the following tasks:

• Work within a cross-functional development team of engineers.
• Operate using agile software delivery methodology.
• Write, execute, and maintain test plans for both new capability and existing capability.
• Providing immediate feedback to engineers regarding test issues.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings.
• Review, interpret, an understand system requirements.
• Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, test plans, and test scenarios to test requirements.
• Test across multiple platforms/baselines for both regression and new functionalities.
• Setup and execution of test scripts.
• Develop automation scripts.
• Troubleshoot production issues to identify root cause.
• Enhance the testing automation suite.

Requirements

• BS in any of the following: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics.
• US Citizenship to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Strong understanding of where QA (System Test) fits within the SDLC.
• 0-4 years of experience in software development and/or testing software.
• Ability to read and understand programming languages such as C++, Java, Ada, C and Python.
• Ability to write detailed test cases and execute testing for a real-time mission critical weapon system.
• Understanding of SDLC principle.
• Experience working with and communicating with development teams.

Experience/Skills

• Enthusiastic about building test suites and tools that automate processes.
• Ability to take on projects and operate with minimal oversight desired.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Automated Test methodologies.
• Knowledge of CMMi Level 5 Life Cycle Processes and Procedures.
• Experience working in a LINUX or UNIX environment, to include scripting.

Experience with the following tools is a plus:

• JIRA (Issue and bug tracking tool)
• Confluence
• DDS
• Jenkins (Continuous Integration tool)
