As a Systems Architect, you will be a technical leader for developing the next generation solutions for helping people living with diabetes. You will lead the effort to establish the architecture for a technology group, enabling future iteration and feature expansion. You will accomplish this through working closely with technical teams to understand technology capabilities as they relate to meeting the goals of the business and working closely with business partners to understand future technology/features needed by the market.

As a part of the Systems Architecture team, you will establish a Systems Architecture that supports the MDT Diabetes strategic product roadmap. You will work closely with Marketing, Customer-Centered Design (CCD), Research and Technology (R&T), and R&D development teams to ensure alignment with the strategic product roadmap. Your primary responsibility will be to document system architecture, enable critical system performance requirements, and maintain architecture from feasibility to commercialization.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. • Establishes the architecture for a technology group to allow for future iteration and feature expansion. • Leads system/platform architecture roadmap definition & planning. • Inform the design evolution in the exploration and prototype stages. • Capture and optimize the architecture to address current & future stakeholder needs during feasibility. • Establishes the technical trade-off space for a product development program. • Collaborate with technical teams to define & refine key system requirements in early stages. • Work closely with technical teams to understand technology capabilities. • Work closely with business partners to understand future technology/features needed by the market. • Work with Legal, Clinical engineering, Human Factors and Design and Development teams to identify and address key constraints. • Partner with the project teams to maintain architecture through development, qualification, and commercialization of the project. • Work closely with the technical leads on product development programs to lead technical integration topics across engineering disciplines. • Attend and provide guidance on technical reviews at design & integration cycle milestones. • Assesses issues across a systems platform and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in system/subsystem architecture, app/cloud development, or other software development experience

OR

Advanced degree and 5+ years in system/subsystem architecture, app/cloud development, or other software development experience

Nice to Have • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and/or Model Based Development (MBD) • Design and Development of software intensive systems in a highly regulated environment (i.e., medical devices or Mil/Aero) • Experience in developing electro-mechanical devices • Experience in Cybersecurity • Experience in System Safety • Experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) • Experience in medical device product development i.e., Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) or Multiple Daily Injection (MDI) systems • Experience in implementing products that have to integrate into multiple platforms • Experience in leading development of distributed systems • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate, influence, and inspire others around a vision of the future • Well-developed collaboration skills with proven track record of interfacing between multiple groups and functions (R&D, PMO, Marketing, Regulatory, QA, and External Experts) • Patient centric mindset with a strong desire to improve clinical outcome

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
