TAM Intern, Public Sector

The Basics: 

At Tanium, our Technical Account Management interns have the opportunity to learn valuable, real-world experience from the world’s leading customer support organization--responsible for the satisfaction and retention of our enterprise customers, including the U.S. Department of Defense and over half the Fortune 100. Operating in a highly collaborative team environment, interns will work closely with an assigned 1-1 TAM mentor as well as other interns on a summer project contributing to our team’s success. A TAM intern can look forward to applying their technical network expertise in the IT environments of large Tanium customers while also building new skills in sales, scripting, presentation, & more.  

What you’ll do: 

• Undergo detailed training in the Tanium platform & IT networking foundations, with the opportunity to become Tanium certified 
• Align with our Public Sector TAM organization (DoD, Civilian, SLED)
• Collaborate with your mentor and other interns
• Provide support for the TAM role and areas of relevance to customer operationalization initiatives
• Own a project designed to support our customer organization’s efficiency and effectiveness, ranging anywhere from automated tooling to creative enablement Develop content to solve customer challenges
• Demo Tanium to potential customers
• Train in top-quality customer-facing sales & presentation skills
• Assist with triaging and root cause analysis for customer issues
• Shadow our full-time TAMs in their day-to-day operations 

TAM support efforts can encompass security (Forensics, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Response) and operations (Compliance, Vulnerability Scanning, Patching, Integrity Monitoring, and more) modules, as well as the Tanium Platform and its components. 
 

 We’re looking for someone with:   

• Authorization to work in the U.S. now & in the future 
• Availability to work full-time from June 12, 2023 – August 18, 2023
• Junior graduating year Spring 2024 or Fall 2023, currently enrolled at an undergraduate institution.  
• GPA of 3.5 or above
• A currently enrolled undergraduate student with a competitive GPA
• Excitement to engage with Tanium customers
• Passion for IT Networking and Security Operations – some IT networking experience REQUIRED
• Excitement to learn new technology
• Interest in learning core infrastructure tasks within macOS, Linux, and Windows. Support efforts may include working within virtual machines (VMs). 

Other helpful experience you may have: 

• Previous experience working in Public Sector 
• IT Help Desk experience preferred 
• Other experience working with customers a plus 

All our interns are paid an hourly wage to work full-time and receive a housing stipend.

Previous interns have come from backgrounds in:
