Hybrid work

Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, and other locations. Our US-based offices are in San Francisco, Denver, and Austin.

About your Skills 

• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and interpret financial information.
• Tax Knowledge: Basic understanding of tax principles and regulations, especially indirect taxes and withholding taxes.
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in preparing tax filings, working papers, and financial reports.

About this role 

As a Tax Analyst, you will analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends and optimize processes. You'll assist in global indirect tax return filings, manage monthly global instructor withholding tax payments, and oversee withholding tax form collections for a global program. You'll also prepare global income tax filings, and quarterly tax provision calculations, and handle responses to notices from US and international tax authorities. Additionally, you'll support statutory international financial statement audits, ensure compliance with internal tax controls, and contribute to various ad-hoc projects as needed.

What you'll be doing

• Help to build and analyze large and complex datasets and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process optimization
• Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual global indirect tax return filings
• Assist in preparation of monthly global instructor withholding tax payment workings
• Assist with withholding tax form collection and maintenance process for the global instructor tax program
• Assist in the preparation of global income tax filings
• Assist with the preparation of global quarterly tax provision calculations
• Assist in the preparation of replies and information support related to notices issued by various US and international tax authorities
• Assist in the preparation of working files for statutory international financial statement audits
• Follow appropriate internal controls related to tax matters and help ensure they are operating correctly

What you’ll have 

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) with 2-3 years of hands-on work experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and multinational corporate environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel & Word skills
• Certification in Data handling & analytics will be a plus
• Superb communication skills (in writing & oral communication) and great attention to detail
•  Ability to work with different cross-functional teams in different time zones
• Strong desire to grow in tax knowledge and demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with superior attention to detail
• Working experience on NetSuite ERP is a plus
• General knowledge of multinational tax direct and indirect compliances 
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
