As a Technical Implementation Specialist at Baxter, your work directly contributes to making a significant impact on others. Its challenging work-and you're not on your own. Your Team

As a Technical Specialist, you'll deliver and support medical device implementations in clinical environments. You'll work effectively with multi-functional teams that include customer resources and Baxter clinical and technical experts. You'll be responsible for implementation and support of Wireless Infusion Devices and the exchange of information between the infusion pumps and the hospital information systems to include the EMR vendor. You'll also support the Starling TM SV monitoring devices. This is where your technical expertise supports our mission of saving and sustaining lives by ensuring the success of our medical devices.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide high level of technical support, as needed, and perform root cause analysis for problems experienced within area of functional responsibility.
  • Design, implement, and support sophisticated and diverse technical solutions that address advanced business requirements.
  • Mentor and/or lead other staff members within functional team. Work with customers to develop technical specifications that meet business requirements for large and medium projects.
  • Provide technical support and expertise on the technical components of both medium and large implementation projects.
  • Guide customers on implementation of security measures and controls.
  • Assist in responding to RFP/RFI Customer questionnaires as the need arises.
  • Assist the Sales Organization by attending technical discussions with prospective customers interested in Baxter medical devices.
  • Remain up to date on new and emerging technologies within area of technical expertise and serve as a resource to other Baxter employees.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in the architecture and/or infrastructure of existing systems.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products and services offered to customers and prospective customers.
  • Prepare and deliver site survey reports using Ekahau hardware and AI Cloud Pro software.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3+ years of work experience in networking support or Information Technology & Systems roles required.
  • Must be able to travel 60% of the time. (Territory supports the Eastern Region. Includes Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Southeast, parts of the Midwest, and the Northeast.)
  • Wireless networking experience (802.11 protocols, RTLS, authentication, surveying, troubleshooting, etc.) preferred.
  • Technical certifications including but not limited to CCNA, CWNA, CWSP, Network + preferred.
  • Ability to understand HL7 and XML standards and previous experience with message structure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment under minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Technical depth or breadth in one or more systems environments and strategic technologies.
  • Ability to assist with medical device integration projects.
  • Perform and facilitate technical testing and support for HL7 and XML standards.
  • Experience working in a clinical environment a plus.
  • Experience working with hospital medical records systems (Cerner, Epic, Meditech, etc.) are a plus.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $68,000 to $156,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
