Summary
The incumbent serves as Training Administrator within the Office of Human Capital Services aligned to the Training Management and Performance Improvement (TMPI) division within the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).

INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATION REQUIREMENTS (IOR): All applicants must meet the Basic Requirement and Experience as stated below, to qualify. Please make sure documents (i.e. resume, transcripts) include all your qualifying experience and education.
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
Experience
Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
- Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
- Supervising or administering a training program.
- Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
- Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting the Individual Occupation Requirements above
GS-12: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the federal service. Specialized experience is work experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Providing management advisory and consultant services on a wide range of training related matters; Assessing training needs to develop training course materials, and Evaluation of training results; and analyzing training programs to provide recommendations for improvement.
Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience you document, to include volunteer experience.

This is a virtual position.
Work Schedule: Regular office hours, Monday -Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Compressed/Flexible and Alternate work schedules may be available.
Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. The full performance level of this position is grade GS-12.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
