About the Position: This position is located at the DPTMS at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Ft. Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. It covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri.

Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent will be required to pass and maintain forklift operator certification.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
- Incumbent is subject to a pre-employment medical clearance examination.
- Position requires employee to wear protective equipment and clothing.
Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Training Aids Equipment Repairer~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common duties such as: 1) Repairing electronic equipment such as radio sets and speaker amplifiers; 2) Assisting in the planning, lay-out, fabrication and assembly of parts and components to build training devices from blueprints; and 3) Conducting preventative maintenance on equipment - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision
- Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
- Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
- Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
- Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
- Trouble Shooting
- Use of Measuring Instruments
- Physical Effort: Work requires long periods of standing, considerable bending, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Working Conditions: Work is performed mainly inside in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated area. Stands on concrete floors for long periods. Exposed to oil, grease, and solvents. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises. Subject to possible injury from use of power tools and machines and soldering equipment. Also subject to electrical shock.
