The Training Manager will play a critical role on the Analytics Platform and Solutions team. This team develops and maintains Upwork's data infrastructure, data warehouse, and business intelligence solutions, empowering our data community to drive the business forward.
The main responsibility of this role will be to develop, implement, and facilitate an exceptional training program for our internal data users. With the immense amount of data inherent to a two-sided marketplace, it is critical for new and existing team members to be able to explore, understand, and leverage data in an efficient manner. This role will get the opportunity to partner across several domains and technologies to enable teams to be as productive as possible.

The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $94,000 - $150,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.

Your Responsibilities:
- Manage onboarding and training curriculums regarding data and analytics tools
- Make ongoing iterations and improvements to curriculum and delivery methods for both new hire onboarding and ongoing training programs
- Partner with multiple department leadership teams and internal stakeholders to continually assess training needs and turn them into actionable programs
- Work with subject matter experts within the APS team to generate training content for domains
- Create data training documents and playbooks as required for specific areas and tools
- Design and develop training in a variety of mediums (e.g. live training, user guides, etc)
What it Takes to Catch our Eye:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complicated technical information in an easy-to-understand way
- Demonstrated writing skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to address all aspects of training, including needs assessment, building lessons and guides, working with subject matter experts, and facilitation
- Previous experience in data and analytics or the willingness to learn (i.e. business intelligence tools, data warehousing, data catalogs, etc)
