Will accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff
Permanent address must be 50 miles away from facility
Patient Types: Medical, Surgical, Telemetry: Afib/RVR, CHF, Chest pain r/o, Acute Coronary Syndrome, post Cath Lab with TR Bands, Surgical overflow - Abdominal, General, General: Sepsis, PNA, Stroke, DKA, COVID
Patient Ratios: RN: Days - 1:5-6, Nights – 1:6, CNA: 2-3 per 30 patients
Skills required: Tele RN required, Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN), Cardiac experience – lead placement, cardiac strip analysis/interpretation, Non-titrating Cardiac gtts (Dopamine, Cardizem, Primacor, Amio, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin)
Support on the Unit: Charge nurse: may or may not have patient assignment, Phlebotomy – peripheral blood draws only, IV/VAT Team for PICC/Midline placement, House Supervisor, 24/7; PCC, RT, 24/7, Hospitalist available, 24/7, OT, PT, ST
Charting System/Equipment: EMR: Meditech Expanse, IV Pumps: Alaris, Medication dispensing: Pyxis
Floating: Possibly, to comparable units, In rotation with perm staff
Orientation: 2 Hospital and 2 on unit

Weekend rotation: Every other
Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week – this is mandatory
Can we approve time off? Up to 7 days – must extend contract for any full weeks of RTO
May only request (1) weekend off per 13-week contract
No call
Holiday Expectations: will be required to work 2/3 major holidays
Black out dates: Halloween 2024; Black Friday 2024

Parking: Free in designated areas
Culture on the unit: Teamwork, Busy – short length of stay
Professionalism is a mandatory requirement – no cell phone usage in patient care areas, earbuds cannot be worn, no eating at desk
