Job Description

General Information: Beds: 36
Minimum years of experience: 1 year
Will accept a first-time traveler: Yes
Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff
Patient Types: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry; General surgery: Sepsis, DM, CHF, COPD, PNA, Cardiac dysrhythmias, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, DVT/PE, etc
No hearts, brains, or transplants
Patient Ratios: RN: Days - 1:5 with tech; 1:4 without tech; Nights – 1:6 with tech; 1:5 without tech; CNA: Days – 1:16; Nights – 1:23

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS are required
NIHSS (preferred)
Skills required: Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN)
Medication administration, Telemetry experience, Wound care, Continuous bladder irrigation, IV insertion skills, Cardiac drips (non-titrating), Oxygen administration, Central line management/care, Pre & Post op care, NG tube placement and care, management of G-tubes

Weekend rotation: Every other
Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week – this is mandatory
Can we approve time off? Yes, up to 7 days; must extend to accommodate a 13-week contract
May only request (1) weekend off per 13-week contract
Call required: None
Holiday Expectations: Must work 2/3 major holidays
Black out dates: Halloween 2024; Black Friday 2024

Professionalism is a mandatory requirement – no cell phone usage in patient care areas, earbuds cannot be worn, no eating at desk
