About the role:
We are seeking a driven VP of Corporate Marketing. In this role you will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and be responsible for driving corporate marketing strategy and planning, leading teams across Brand & Creative, Customer Marketing, and Events & Field Marketing. You will also help drive our expansion into full-funnel Enterprise Campaigns, and build out a Digital team to drive our www.samsara.com strategy.
In this role, you will:
- Lead our efforts to build a world-class brand
- Create and drive a long term plan to build our brand awareness and position Samsara as a high growth, market leader
- Work with our Head of Brand to build and maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels
- Develop insights based on market research, comparative analysis, campaign effectiveness, and industry trends and translate those insights into actionable recommendations that promote business objectives and drive tangible results
- Partner with Growth Marketing, Marketing Ops, Product Marketing, and Content Marketing to build out and execute an Enterprise Campaign strategy and measure key results
- Lead our Events & Field Marketing
- In partnership with the Director of Events & Field Marketing, build a strategy, plan and vision to produce large scale events and evolve Samsara’s event strategy to meet the pace of a fast-growing, global company
- Create and scale targeted events and experiences for the Enterprise audience
- Identify, measure and report on KPIs, targets and success metrics to further improve our experiences
- Drive alignment with sales teams' executive stakeholders
- Scale up EBC program and content to strategically target top accounts and drive pipe generation and progression
- Oversee that our cadence of events supports building Samsara’s brand awareness and market visibility
- Drive CKO and SKO strategy and execution to increase employee engagement, connection, and fluency in our products and company strategy
- Lead the Customer Marketing Team
- Lead and develop the Customer Marketing team to build a holistic Customer Advocacy strategy partnering with cross-functional teams aligned to Marketing, Product, Sales, and Customer Success
- Develop best practices and programs to streamline communication, engagement, and build long lasting customers relationships
- Adopt a Customer centric mindset, understand the voice of the customer, be a customer advocate, a listener, and a partner
- Own and Build out our www.samsara.com web experience
- Own and drive the evolution of samsara.com, in partnership with Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Content, and Global Teams, to support the evolution of our brand while growing lead generation
- Scale our site for international expansion to ensure we have the right processes to deploy new pages and content globally
- Create full funnel journeys on the website that speak to the array of customers across segments who are in various stages of their buying journey
- Enterprise Campaigns
- In conjunction with the rest of our Marketing Leadership Team, build and scale full funnel campaigns to target Enterprise and high-end Mid-Market customers to drive net new and expansion ACV
- Outline Marketing Stack technology needs to create nurture journeys and work with Marketing Ops on roadmap to drive technology roll-out and adoption across marketing and sales teams
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles - as a leader at Samsara, you will champion and role model our values and cultural principles as we scale globally: Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
Minimum requirements for this role:
- 15-20 years of experience developing and leading corporate marketing initiatives and teams in high-growth, innovative and complex organizations, ideally having served as a Corporate Marketing leader for a public company/companies over the course of their career
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, empower teams, as well as make difficult choices
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans
- Deep knowledge of market and persona research, building brand level awareness, full funnel, integrated campaigns
- Strong aptitude for verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
- Experience in building long-term customer relationships and developing positive relationships with key industry stakeholders
- Ability to manage agency providers, consultants, contractors, and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and refine marketing strategies
- Understand market context to inform the right development of event strategy and planning
- Create a culture of transparency and communication throughout the organization
- Proactively address difficulties in the internal and external environment
- Exhibit fiscal responsibility by managing operations within budget guidelines
- Top of the line problem solving abilities, critical thinking and outstanding business judgment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position will require the person to be responsible for the management, direction, coordination, performance, and evaluation of an assigned team and staff. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
